It was amazing how quickly those itty-bitty mice pups grew. By the end of the school week, the children could already see that the babies were growing some fur. But how many mice were there? At first it seemed like there were 5 babies, but then it seemed like 9 babies. They were so hard to count when they bundled themselves up in that "mouse pile". Finally Mrs. B. was able to count the babies properly...

one - two - three - four - five - six - seven - eight - nine - ten - eleven!

un - deux - trois - quatre - cinq - six - sept - huit - neuf - dix - onze!

eins - zwei - drei - vier - funf - sechs - zieben - acht - neun - zehn - elf!

By Day 6, only one little baby remained pink... or maybe that baby would be a different colour from the others. The children would just have to wait and see!
