#49 Chloe Glover! Gauteng, S. Africa |
Chloe's lovely artwork has been created by her students
at St. Mary's Junior School, an Anglican Private School for girls. |
Chloe is working to create a communication system with other South African teachers, hoping to share ideas on curriculum. We hope this webpage might inspire some of Chloe's "neighbours", as well as teachers in other areas, to join the growing connection! |
A hairbrush was dismantled and a sponge cut the same shape. The sponge and the bristles of the brush were then spray painted gold. Felt was used to make the forehead, eyes, nose, ears, hands and feet. Whiskers were added at the end. |
The materials used were sawdust and cottonwool for the soft tummy, wood shavings and triangles cut out of different shades of brown paper for wings, and sequins (black, gold, blue and white) for the eyes. Many of the children thought that the white owl was the most beautiful, and chose to make soft, white furry owls. |
This owl is evidently quite enjoying a starry night! |
