Classroom pets: Are you ready? Phasmids (Sypiloidea sypilus, Baculum extradentatum, Heteropteryx dilatata, Longhodes brevipes, Aretaeon asperrimus), mantis, crickets, locusts, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Drosophila. mealworms, aphids (for the baby mantis), guppies, hamsters
Classroom pets:
(past) rabbits, gerbils, freshly hatched chicks, snails
Pets at home: same rabbits, 2 dogs, cat
Other animal projects: In the unit on sexual reproduction class 7 students select an animal and write an individual reports/posters on reproduction. Only two mammal reports are allowed in each class and even these must be "unusual" mammals such as flying foxes or hedgehogs or .... We look at snails, sea urchins, parthenogenic insects ....

Future Plans:
I would like to find a distant school class that will trade animal information via e-mail with individuals in my classes, this year or next year. If I find interested students, can we post pictures and phasmid information on your web page? Can you think of a joint project for next year?

Nora's Note: Penny and I are planning to begin work on a CA&P Student Project section with the help of her enthusiastic students!
