Some Coquitlam Sites of Our Own!

If you check the School Websites in the Coquitlam District #43 directory, you will see that many teachers have been hard at work creating school websites. Some of our teachers also have websites which reflect their own personal interests as well.

Coquitlam K-12 Learning and Resource Library
(Winner of the 1998 Roy Hill Provincial Award!) Although this is a district, rather than individual, website, it came into being through the inspiration and dedication of Coquitlam Teacher-Librarians. Most of their long hours creating this website were put in well after the regular "work day" was over.

Internet Sites that Work with Elementary Students
David Brear is a Coquitlam Computer Teacher who additionally created and currently facilitates the UBC Continuing Professional Education correspondence course "On Ramp to the information Highway" (EDCI 396C). "Internet Sites that Work..." originates from David Brear's popular workshop for teachers. It includes excellent teacher resources as well as student resources and project ideas.

Classroom Animals and Pets
Here's where your own Nestor teacher, Nora Boekhout, got started on building websites. I get to tell about my class pets and share experiences with teachers around the world. Yes... other teachers DO have "class zoos" too!

CanOz Connection
Your own Nestor teacher, Nora Boekhout, also enjoys a "stuffed animal exchange" with a teacher in Australia. This year she found out that teachers all around the world are involved in similar projects. This year the stuffies may be traveling to South Africa and New York as well!
